Artists… Fisherman… is there really a difference? When an artist casts hope upon a canvas is he not seeking to manifest his full potential and reward himself with a trophy that he can treasure, hang an image on the wall, show the world, and feel proud of? When the same man whips a moderate-action spinning rod across the sky is he not brushing his faith into the ocean, to see what dreams may come? A specimen, of nature's perfect artwork. Food, for his soul.
Fishing is an art. It takes study, practice, failure, and persistence driven by passion to succeed. Many members of our Facebook group California Surf Fishing CSF do spend cold winter days when the waves are too big to fish, in front of an easel, a sketch pad, a computer screen, creating something to behold. A beautiful catch, so to speak.
The following is a collection of fishing-themed artwork by members of our Facebook Group, California Surf Fishing (CSF). Enjoy these beautiful works. What is evoked by the parts of you that resonate with these images? Please consider contacting the artists to express your appreciation for their creations, some of which may be available for you to purchase.
