LESS TWISTED/FOULED CAROLINA LEADERS

The bait is perfectly symmetrical so it is passive as if it travels through the air and water. It is weighted to help the bottom side stay down and the top side (hook-tip up). You can retrieve it slow or fast, it won’t spiral and spin as much as an asymmetrical bait, so your Carolina rig leader comes up nice and straight at the end of each retrieve. Especially when used in tandem with the Battlestar Tungsten Sliding Ball Weight (not egg weight), and 15lb Fluorocarbon leader.

SUPER LONG CASTING

Due to the symmetrical, elongated prolate spheroid shape, this bait is as passive as it can be when traveling through the air and water. That means it will cast further than any other bait and won’t get pushed and spun around in the current as much as a traditional perch grub.

Instead of getting tails torn off again and again as with traditional soft plastic perch grubs, the tail end of the Battlestar Hard Candy Perch Bait features a single point hook, converting tail biters into more hooked fish! 

WIRE HOOK THROUGH HARD PLASTIC DESIGN 

Despite the original shape of this bait, it is made with the same structure as any plastic Jerkbait. It uniquely features a wire hook-through design for maximum strength, and a 2X strength hook. The Hard Candy can handle the heat! Perfect for Mondo 16”+ Surfperch, and ready for when the Striped Bass are biting! It also features an internal weight system to keep it in a horizontal orientation in the water, so the bait behaves optimally when flying through the air, or swimming at any speed. 

SLOW SINK ACTION 

Just like real fish food, be it cut or live bait, the Battlestar Hard Candy Perch Bait is designed to sink very slowly in saltwater. This action mimics real food and triggers bites. It also produces a wobbling-rolling action and drives fish crazy!

WOBBLING-ROLLING ACTION 

When the Hard Candy perch bait is retrieved through the water, it produces a wobbling-rolling action similar to a sand crab drifting down the beach in the back swash of a wave. Because water is 800 times more dense than air, this effect does not result when casting. It cuts through the air nice and straight for super long casts and expresses a vibrant life-like action when retrieved through the water or paused in heavy current. 

REPLACEMENT HOOKS
